Print On-Demand Book Publishing Application

Client Requirements

The client requirement was to develop a web application facilitating “on-demand” book publishing for amateur writers, professionals, hobbyist and institutions.

Solution

A book publishing wizard was developed. Using the wizard, the authors can upload their book, generate book covers and publish it. The company will then print, bind and ship the book worldwide. After that a web app was developed with user friendly GUI and multi-browser support.

Spring framework was used for self-publishing, uploading and excerpt preview of books. App generates the customized agenda and meetings can be booked. Implementation was performed in 11 languages and 8 currencies through internationalization.

Results

A very intuitive and user-friendly app was developed. It gained huge popularity among the authors. They can now get their books published sitting at their places without even going to the publications.
